In this video, Dr. Heidi Hayes Jacobs discusses phase four, mapping into the future, with Curriculum Designers Inc, Director of Communications Earl Nicholas. He asks Dr. Jacobs to elaborate on moving forward with mapping. Dr. Jacobs explains how in phase four teachers must begin to regularly review their maps to keep them up to date with the content students need. Teachers need to be "thinking forward" with the curriculum.

Dr. Jacobs tells a story using the Minnesota Twins baseball team's logo, which includes "T/C." While the T/C stands for Twin Cities, she views the T/C as technology and curriculum integrated with each other. She believes teachers should be thinking with such a perspective.

Moving forward, Dr. Jacobs says she is looking at ways to help teachers replace dated techniques with advanced uses of technology. She goes on to explain how in the fourth phase, mapping continuously needs revitalizing. Teachers need to constantly revisit their content to see if its contemporary, preparatory, and looks at the skills and forms of assessment to assure we help our learners in the 21st century.
