Guideline:

Though curriculum mapping is simple conceptually, implementing it is a complex process. District and school leaders need to be cognizant of how vision, skills, incentives, resources, and action plans work together to be bring about sustainable change necessary to  launch curriculum mapping successfully.

This resource provides questions a district and its schools should address when implementing curriculum mapping. The graphic illustrates those elements necessary to achieve sustainable change. The material has been extracted from Janet Hale's presentation "Mapping the Curriculum: Curriculum Mapping Intra-Organizations and Action Plans," slide 36.

In this video provided by Curriculum Designers, Inc, Dr. Heidi Hayes Jacobs explains launching the process of curriculum change and connects the mapping process to a framework for professional development. This video runs 3 minutes and 2 seconds.
