Section 1119 of Title I of the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act contains provisions addressing the use of designated funds to support professional development. Other NCLB provisions address the qualifications for instructional staff members and paraprofessionals, and notification requirements to parents about classroom staff member qualifications. District staff members responsible for the instructional staff member recruitment and development should be aware of these requirements, as should the principal of each school receiving Title I funds.
