KnowledgeBases > The School Improvement KnowledgeBase > Element 2 > Activity 3 > Task 2: Define the Scope of Technical Assistance

Guideline:

Technical assistance should be focused on those areas causing the school to be identified as in need of improvement, corrective action, or restructuring. It is to be provided for the duration of the school improvement plan.

This document provides questions and answers about technical assistance extracted from the U.S. Department of Education's LEA and School Improvement Non-Regulatory Guidance dated July 21, 2006.

This issue of the National Clearinghouse for Comprehensive School Reform's Benchmarks newsletter reviews aspects of quality technical assistance.

Developed by the five Comprehensive Technical Assistance content centers, the Handbook on Effective Implementation of School Improvement Grants aims to bolster the effective implementation of the intervention models and strategies outlined in the 2009 School Improvement Grant program. This section addresses hiring and evaluating external partners.
