Guideline:

Family and community involvement has been demonstrated to be an essential element of a successful school. The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) calls for parents to be involved in their children's education as well as mandating specific communications from schools to parents. The school improvement plan is to include strategies for promoting effective family and community involvement at the school.

When communicating with national-origin language minority parents about school-related matters, the school must do so in a language they understand.
