KnowledgeBases > Keys to Writing for the Web

To be effective, writers must be aware that writing for the web has special challenges. For instance, on the web 79% of users scan documents instead of reading word-for-word as they would a magazine, book or other print media.  The proliferation of web pages also makes credibility an issue when publishing information on the internet.  Surfers on the information superhighway have become savvy to the fact that anyone can publish to the internet.  A third consideration when writing for the web is usability.  "If you build it, they will come." works in the movies, not always on the internet. Writers should design their internet offerings with each of these factors in mind.
