Having selected the project idea the project team will then conceptualize the project. The following list is identifies key things to do as the project team does so.
- Solicit critical feedback from colleagues.
- Check the idea against the priorities of various funding agencies using the printed information available.
- In the case of a governmental agency, make a telephone call (or personal visit) to the agency to discuss their interest in your idea.
- Discuss the idea with the various local people who would be involved in, be affected by, or responsible to approve the project.
- Conduct planning sessions with all individuals and groups who would be involved in the project.
- If possible, submit a written summary of the project or initial draft of the proposal for reactions and feedback.
